According to the Regulations notified by the Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on 29 June 2010, a working group was set up with representatives from Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHTO), Iran's Environment Protection Organization (IEPO), Iran's Physical Education Organization (Classic Committee of MAFIRI ), Iran's Police (Traffic Department), Ministry of Industries & Mines and Touring & Automobile Club of I.R.Iran. The main objective is to identify and preserve the historic vehicles in the country. The executive Secretariat of the working group is based in TACI, Azadi Street, Tehran, Iran.
TACI is concerned with the identification and preservation of historic vehicles, which are accepted as being an important part of our heritage and attempts to catalogue as many historic vehicles as is possible through Identification, Technical Inspection, Registration and Historic Certificate & Plate allocation, which is administered by the Technical Commissions. To further this end it has forged links with FIVA and has persuaded it to accept TACI’s membership to help achieve this goal. Until now, with the online registration about 500 historic vehicles have been registered.
